Default I canit control my excitement Thunia alb in bud

I noticed today that my Thunia alba has developed a bud! I got so excited, it has grown so well over the last few months but I did not expect flowers till summer, It is not far away from a HID lamp but far enough it has some shade, I turned the plant around as it was leaning towards the light and there it was my first orchid I have got to bud myself, though I guess buying it with a shoot starting to appear is slightly cheating but I am happy all the same the last photo is of when I got it and the rest are of it now and the bud that has appeared I cant believe I hadnt noticed it till now, sorry for getting so excited but for someone who use to look at a plant and it keel over this seems a big victory

sorry for title typos meant to read cannot contain my excitement Thunia alba in bud, I am too happy to type LOL

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Is't it exciting to see that first bud forming? I even get excited when I see a plant form buds the second or third time. I'm always amazed when I see one forming, and then unfurling.

Thanks everyone, I seem to get excited but every bit of new growth I find on my orchids as I was really worried I would kill them like many other plants that have been unfortunate enough to come into my hands. Checking them today so many of them have new growths be it new roots or new pbulbs forming but yes I am most excited about my bud. I cant wait to see it develop and unfurl. I really didnt expect to see buds so soon in my orchid collecting days, i guess the challenge will be if I can start a new growth myself and get it to flower next year as this did have that little shoot peeking out of the bark when I got it. I read that Thunias are not popular in cultivation as they are tall and lose all their leaves and I think the flowers are short lived but if it is this easy to grow and flower I think every newbie should invest in them jsut to make themselves feel good when they get it to grow and flower and it grows so fast, I have only had this plant two months and it grew like a weed! I love it
