Default help with encyclical garciana

the guy is growing well but his leaves are all kinky. the first one I thought it was because it was tangled up but nope.
it is in moss in the basket it never gets dry and lots of light it is hanging with my vandals and coconut orchids. I know wrinkly leaves are usually not enough water or too much light depending on the species.

This one likes plenty of humidity. I grow mine in my tank with the Bulbophyllum.

Sixty-percent seems like a decent amount but I have no idea how much humidity this needs or how humid my tank is. Trying to grow this in a jar might possibly invite fungus issues (some orchids do great in jars while others do not) so I would not advise it unless others post to the thread letting you know that they have successfully done this. As it is growing well, I would just accept the kinky leaves and not worry too much.

It is epiphytic on cacti in an area with lots of fog and rain. I couldn't keep a mounted plant alive. Every time it dried out it lost growths until there was nothing left. I think it needs to stay very wet, not just moist.

It is not supposed to need as much sun as do many other Encyclias. It is capable of blooming all year, on each new growth. Are you fertilizing?

it is in a moss basket so it never dries and it is growing well. but its s libeled as bright light from andy's orchids. so i have it in the window with the vandal and some leds. so maybe it is too much light?

It grows on cacti? That is pretty neat. I know almost nothing about this orchid except that I was told that it would grow in my tank with the Bulbophyllum. Mine is potted in moss/basket pot and sits on the lava rock so it can wick up water. I fertilize mine with Osmocote. It hasn't been fussy.

Cacti are from all different elevations and climates, just like orchids. People are often surprised to find there are cacti that prefer to be moist and foggy much of the year. Others live in wet jungle. There are some epiphytic cacti species from cloud forest that are hard to grow even in California except very close to the coast because they don't take heat. But WOW, their flowers are amazing.
