Anyone know of a Zygopetalum that blooms from at the base of the pseudobulbs? I got one that has a slike froming from there will post lics when open. Has very round bulbs?

It's been a while since I've had any Zygos, but I think that is typical for them Mackaii does, at least ...

My Noid Zygo always starts the spikes from the base of the p-bulb. It usually starts under the leaves that surround the p-bulb and you first see it appear between them, but it definitely starts at the base.

Agreed, they all definitely start at the base, usually hidden behind the leaves.

How old? Mine flower on this year's growth, but they are mature.

I think Zygos can vary in this, I've seen others say they come from mature bulbs, my one noid zygo grows them before the bulb even develops.
