For those that have asked I started loosing the blooms one at a time starting last Wednesday and the last one is finished this morning, but the new spike for the other pseudobulb has just started to show itself, more blooms to come. I also see the start of another pseudobulb.

I am expecting the Galeottia negrensis to arrive today or tomorrow, it blooms in the summer so I will hopefully have those to see later this year.

Thanks to all who also liked this one!

I noticed yesterday that the new spike has the first two bulbs showing and I think I see a third one but need to wait for it to open up a little more to be sure.

Wonderful! I've debated getting grandiflora and/or negrensis but never did. They are quite beautiful, nice job acquiring one.

I think you said you grow this kind of more shaded, is that correct? Is it a very thirsty and hungry (fertilizer) plant? What about temps? Just curious... You're obviously doing something right to get it to spike again, well done!

Oh and btw, just cuz I'm a nerd, I do believe this falls under the Maxillaria Alliance.

I have it and the negrensis that I did receive in a shaded area in my outdoor growing area, it gets fertilizer twice per month and I will normally give it water every couple of days. Remember I am in South Florida so my conditions are different then where you are in the Midwest. I would say if you have a chance to purchase either of them do it!

Default Second blooming this spring.

This one has bloomed once more this spring, you have got to really love an orchid that blooms twice for you in 2 months time!
