Bud, I love the "spoiled lasagna" description! I always struggle to describe the aroma of this one to others, except that they shouldn't be fooled by the specific epithet "hyacinthoides".

Your plant looks like it has some pink in the flowers - very nice. We grow Marilyn Ledoux's "Snowstorm" clone which is pure white.

I always thought it had a tinge of pink as I have seen the pictures in IOSPE site....

Default Eria hyacinthoides when blooms?

I just got an eria recently. It is a nice plant, but wondering when it tends to bloom, and how often.

Nice and a relatively easy culture from what you posted. Double nice.

Default Rebloomed once again

Rebloomed once again and still emits a strong smell of a cheesy week-old lasagna yet it is not unpleasant. This is always on the east facing window of my kitchen since it requires a bit of shade as opposed to full sun, yet I give it medium to hot temperatures in the summer but lower temps in winter and giving it high humidity and constant ventilation. I give it regular water in its growth period but allow it to dry before watering to avoid stagnation of water deposits on the thick pseudo bulbs that may cause it to rot. I lost three pseudo bulbs already. I reduce water in winter like once a week to give it a slight rest period (but making sure it does not go completely dry) although it is not strictly necessary to give it a rest period. As much as possible I only repot if necessary for the roots do not like to be disturbed. Strange but this blooms in spring, maybe it is my indoor environment or the New York weather. Otherwise, this is an easy grower.

Cheesy old lasagne - makes me want it! It doesn't really look like an orchid either.
