I know that this species is common, but it's a first bloom for me and I like it quite a bit. The flowers are not fragrant (as my H. ericmichaelii is) but the flowers are relatively large. The plant is 13 inches tall and each flower is 1 1/4 inches long and 7/8 inches wide.
One of my favorites, but not easy to grow and bloom well. Any tips?
It's my first attempt so this could be luck, but I grow it like other Habenarias: moist and warm in the growing season and warm (> 60F) in the winter but keep it bone dry at that time. I grow it in 50% worm castings and 50% perlite. When growing, I fertilize weakly weekly (125-150 ppm of a urea-free fertilizer).
A funny flower - at first look I thought I was in a wrong thread - looked like a pink Zelenkoa! Really lovely, Habenarias are quite seldom over here...
