Australian Mediterranean-climate terrestrials are coming into season.

Diuris orientis is, as its name implies, from eastern (and southern) Australia.

Diuris magnifica is native to western Australia

The Aussie terrestrials like a little more acidity in the mix than the European ones. I use about 80% inorganic (a mix of pumice and Kanuma), the balance is cactus-mix potting soil and some chopped sphagnum. The idea behind the white pots is that during summer dormancy, they are getting direct sun and some heat, the white tends to keep the pot interiors a little cooler, to not cook the tubers.

Cool! I lived in Auatralia breifly, and I remember finding these growing outside of Melbourne. Cant remember which species but it was similar.

You realy have a very broad collection Roberta! Its quite amazing!
