I do love fuzzy orchids. It is related to Eria. The woolly buds open to these flowers, one per pseudobulb. I grow this outdoors on my patio, shady and damp. It is native to Vietnam, from the area of Dalat, around 1500 m. elevation.

Lovely pink Roberta. Mine is white and had to remount on treefern totem as it's quite a rambler. Fuzzy and upside down gets me xcited too.

DeaC, great suggestion to mount... I got it into a bulb pan, but it is clear that it isn't going to stay there.

Really cute. Are those blooms fully opened? I did a web search and all the flowers seem to be more opened than your pics. Nice growing!

Flowers are opened... they nod downward, I was not able to get under them to get a truly "frontal" shot. Also, I wanted to get the photo to show the fuzzy back of the flower too. So many dimensions...

How big is the plant? Had a little trouble finding a fact sheet that detailed. Again, really sexy little flowers.

Pot is 6 inches. New pseudobulbs seem to gravitate to the outside... long internodes. So it's going to go into an 8 inch bulb pan once new growth starts, unless I find a suitable mount for it. I think that this is a piece of the plant that got a CCM/AOS a couple of years ago (bought from the person who got the award, same cultivar name), the award description had it as 50 cm (19 inches) wide by 40 cm tall in a 20 cm (7.8 inch) pot with 44 flowers and 7 buds. I looked up the award photo on the AOS website (OrchidPro Online), spectacular. (Plant more than twice the width of the pot) So this one has a way to go...

Got it from Insituorchids ... Jeff Tyler, sells on eBay. I have had it for a bit over a year (during which it doubled)... he must have broken up the plant to have pieces to sell fairly shortly after he got the that cultural award.
