Cool! This is such a nice species, look forward to seeing it in bloom. Current accepted name is pecten-veneris, BTW, though almost every vendor still sells it as tingabarinum...

Some say epiphytic orchids are parasite, for living on trees.. However, I say that orchids are parasites for luring us humans to take them into our homes to feed and care for them. Much more care than they would get in the wild....

Word of caution, if you haven't bloomed this one before: avoid splashing the spike when watering, and be careful to keep it especially protected from drafts, i.e. fan breezes. I blasted many spikes on mine until I figured this out. -Stephen

I did not know about the name or about the blooms sensitivity to wind and water. I will keep you all posted of the outcome.
