Default Dozen new minis from Longwood Show

Thanks Susanne, Laura, Dana, Ron, Ross, Sakkai and all of my Minis enablers. I could not have done this without you.

I did not buy any orchids for nearly a year because of space limitations. Instead I kept looking at the gorgeous minis posted on these forums, asked questions and assembled a "realistic " Wish List. Seemed like, a harmless learning experience at the time. I was stunned to find all of them, and more, at the Longwood Gardens Orchid Show.

As soon as I arrived I landed in the tent of Andy Phillips, who I had never met before, when he and his assitsants had no other customers and were just waiting. I was naive. I don't think I have to say any more.

.
On the photo all from Andy's

Domingoa haematochila (with one bud, now open)
Capanemia uliginosa (+ tiny cousin, Capanemia micromera, 1" high, barely visible right behind it)
Leptotes pohlitinocoi (Thanks Laura)
Tuberolabium Phillipsii ( Named after Andy Phillips, in bud)
Den. tetragonum (Thanks Shakkai)
Den, moniliforme China form
Brassavola. Mickey Mouse

Already in containers

Tricoglottis pusilla
Den. oligophyllym (Thanks to endorsement by Susanne and Ross)

And from the lovely ladies at J&L, a source for successful plants for me.

Pleurothallis pterophora (Second try for me, now in water culture)

And, of course I had to talk to my friends at H&R, who bread more than half the orchids I can actually grow.

Leptotes bicolor seedlings( I already have one but I want to grow some more for just for fun )
Den. junceum (strange looking seedling with thin, terete leaves)
Slc Fire Magic (Lc Tokio Magic x Fire Fantasy)
Lc Mari's Magic 'H&R'

Those minis enablers are terrible aren't they? You got several of the ones that are on my minis wishlist! I've gotten addicted to these little boogers, I now have 7-8 minis in my collection, and I'm planning for more.
Nice healthy plants you bought, I know that everyone is always happy with the plants at Andy's. I wish I could buy from them!

WOOOOW! So this is the rest of the spree that the leptotes came with. Very nice choices! Aren't minis just great? So much color and character packed into such tiny packages, and you can fit so many in the same space as one or two larger orchids.

Congratulations on some GREAT new additions (or should I say addictions?!)

What a neat Den. moniliforme - I never thought about growing them mounted before. And you will not be disappointed with the Den. tetragonum! Its such a fantastic plant!

PS. Have you seen the Den. senile?
Dendrobium senile
New arrivals!

Maria, you really had a great time, I can see! A fantastic selection, IMHO. You got 2 that I've had on my must have list...pusilla and tetragonum. You're keeping these 'as is' or, putting in water culture?

J&L has one of the best selections of mini's I've seen, haven't bought from them yet but I know it's in my future.

Fantastic, happy growing to You!

Thanks everyone for helping me prolong these optimistic moments. If I can get half of them to thrive with my low humidity in the Winter I will be happy. This is the advantage of buying more than one at a time. At least some will make it. After many years of growing in the house I still can't predict which one.

Yes Sandy, most of them will go into water culture first, but whenever I have two separate sections to pot up I usually try SH right away as well.
