Default Nightstand lantern.

I use this decorative lantern as a light for my nightstand.
Unlike my other lantern this one is genuinely used as a light before an orchid growing space.

That aside I decided that some mini orchids would be nice.

Black lava rock in a glass dish, with a 23 watt cfl up top.

Not finished. Need more lava rock, and I'm still looking for the perfect dish.
But I finally felt it was presentable enough to share.

The orchids are... lepanthopsis astrophora, lepanthes telipogoniflora, and haraella retrocalla.

The lepanthopsis is spiking.

The lepanthes has three new growths.

And the haraella is on its second leaf and is still pumping out roots.

Looks awesome! I love this, it must be such a nice to turn off the lights and have this lantern on the side of the bed lighted before heading to sleep! Great miniature plants too!

It's really nice. I actually love how this turned out and the growth is very encouraging.

I must admit this was heavily inspired by you.

It was your lepanthopsis astrophora heaven that inspired this the most.

Thank you! I got this lantern at Home Goods. They have an isle dedicated to decorative lanterns.
Let me measure for you....

It's 20" tall, and 9" wide and deep.

the actual orchid growing space on the inside is 11" tall and 6" wide and deep.

Thank you for measuring that!

So, it was already wired for a bulb? Did you have to do anything to it to get the light as you have it?
