Default haraella retrocalla 4 flowers open

Last time she flowered with 4 open at the same time was the 20th August 2010. I'm happy she's done it again

Awesome. I just caved and bought this little guy from Oak hill for the mounted special. He's hoping it looks as good when flowering as this!

Mine just lost its first flower and is starting a second spike. It had two when I got it but they both blasted. Which is ok since it started 2 new ones!!

Great growing! It likes you, it really likes you!!

Thank you all!
I have to say,I originally got it as the project plant in spring 2009 & I have 2 specimens. They flower from spring to autumn.
I Love this plant !!!! But, I have heard stories about it blooming itself to death.....?
Here is how I have 'managed' them for now...
I really watch my roots & leaf growth & as long as I water by 'dipping' it nearly every day ..it seems to be a very easy grower , in my conditions that is; In an enclosed reseptacle (Big plastic bottle)
I have her twin growing on a hardwood mount (transplanted in Februrary) who is also growing the 'right' things but is less advanced (one spike, one open bloom)
One of the easiest and most rewarding species I have & it is scented!

Rolando, It is growing on a cork slab.

Beautiful! You make me want to try this one again. I'm one of these people who has let 3 bloom themselves to death.

I too have heard they bloom themselves to death. Do you fertilize with each watering or just weekly/weakly?
