Thanks for the tip Ron, i'm going to put it in a more brighter spot soon, i was reading on some other forums also that people give them high light.

My only problem is the unpredictable weather here (thats why im also moving to lights), most of the time the light is decently equal but recently there was a few hours of extremely bright light and it completely fried my nanodes porpax which was really close to the window!

Unfortunately its been generally really bad weather the last weeks, so my plants have been getting way to low light with a few exceptional days :/

Edit: I forgot to ask, does brighter warmer conditions affect the duration of the flower? I read somewhere Orchid flowers in general last longer when they are in more shadier cooler conditions, but it has been said oxyglossums keep their flowers for several months

I love this species, and this section in general...great growing

I am not sure - have never been able to figure out what affect flower longevity, but when your talking about flowers that last months, what's to worry?

Hehe, yep. Is this your first oxyglossum flowering? If not is it true about the flowers lasting this long?

thanks

I have sulphureum, vexillarium and cuthbertsonii in bloom right now and have boomed several others and it is true that the blooms last a long time. I also have a hybrid of cuthbertsonii and lawesii that is equally long-lived (the flowers, that is). The latter has not been without flowers for years.

Thanks for the information ron, the plant does look amazing.
Too bad they are so hard to source in my area

They're hard to find anywhere to the best of my knowledge.
