Maybe my greatest orchid achievement yet! Getting this beauty to bloom on two spikes! And just look at those variegated leaves!

I live in Washington DC and I keep it in textbook care and culture. Chunky bark medium with a touch of spaghnum. Completely dry before watering and only water on a sunny day so all the water droplets evaporates from the leaves. In winter, less water and more dry conditions overall. She lives in a southern facing window with a sheer curtain so the leaves don't burn. That window is drafty so at night in the winter, it will get down to 50-55 Fahrenheit. I water with tap water and she doesn't mind I think. I ou fertilize like every other month (maybe)... I don't fertilize my plants much in general.

Very nice! Looks so perfect - like something in a home decorating magazine.

Nice job!

You do know that’s a phalaenopsis now, right?

Thank you! Yep, I know it's technically a phalaenopsis. But.... she will always be a siderea in my heart

…and it was an aerides before that. Note that “sedirea” is “aerides” spelled backwards.
