Here's a micro-mini twig epiphyte. Leaves and flowers are about 1 cm (1/2 inch). The stem is about 1 mm in diameter, definitely less than 2 mm. It has no pseudobulbs. Surprisingly, it is a member of the Cattleya tribe (my guess is that it is somewhat related to Epidendrum) But it's a survivor... this is its second year blooming for me. It lives outside. The name reached out and grabbed me , along with the fact that it was living in one of Andy's outdoor shade areas. (I'm a sucker for any weird little thing that can live outside at my house) Native to Brazil.

Holy handgrenade!

You and these minis it is amazing!!! I feel like with small orchids there is ZERO margin to mess up. You must be like a plant psychic to have them all so dialed in!!!

I bow to your skill and craft

Actually, they survive or they don't... My back fence is nice and shady, gets watering both from misters and sprinklers. (Climate is nearly ideal, except for the lack of rain... a friend who is a much better outdoor grower than I am, also coastal, sums it up as "Just add water and subtract sunlight") The hard part is the gymnastics necessary to get close enough to see some of the these little ones when they are blooming. Because my growing area is jungle. I'll occasionally miss one, but not often.

That’s great, Roberta. I’m just glad I didn’t have to type that name!

I’d love to have year-round outdoors orchids. Know any that can handle the 90’s with 100% RH and the 30’s in winter?

I do like orchids with the name that is bigger than the plant.

Alas, I don't know of anything that can quite manage your temperature range... for the summers, lots of things... but those would be most unhappy in winter.

It's exquisite... but I'd need a magnifying glass to enjoy it.

PS And I'm with DC... these tiny little things scare the heck outta me. No margin for error is definitely how it feels.
