sadly they don't live long either. I still think with this sort of set up a chamillion would be awesome.

Orchid Mantis is a suggestion but unfortunately the wife/boss doesn't agree. I've contemplated pygmy chameleons before but I can't handle the commitment now.

Any suggestions for something big, colourful and harmless to plants. Snails are a commitment I can handle

Lovely terr! Btw, concerning the chids held to their mounts with what looks like green twist ties -- if you wish to have a less noticeable binding, you can use clear fishing line or even brown thread.
You're right Paul I had to reseal any Exo Terra when I kept Frogs and fed Fruit flies. It's not a difficult thing to do but.......

Regarding the green twist ties. It's actually plastic coated wire specially for plants. I don't like the look of it but I used to use fishing line cause it's not nearly as visible but I deal with mostly tiny plants and fishing line easily cuts them if I'm not careful and It's not easy to work with. This stuff is ugly but very gentle and easy to work with. Usually, if all goes well, the plants will root and anchor their selves and I can remove the ugly green wire.

Very beautiful set up. I wish to start one terrarium soon. Would betta fish be good choice? They can breathe air and colorful.
