I'm sorry, Daethen, this is not a DIY project. Even if I revealed the recipe for the material, you would not be able to buy the ingredients or use them correctly. Home Depot doesn't carry them, you won't find anyone there who has even heard of them. I have to buy the materials in industrial quantities, by the tonne. You also need special tools to mix.

I've been trying to figure out a simpler DIY design, and all I can come up with is a shallow plastic lined tray filled with lava rock held with wire mesh. If anyone has done something similar, please share.

Well, I guess I will just have to experiment on my own then. I am a major DIYer. I will find something that will work for my space. I mainly work with wood and glass, but maybe it is time to expand my horizons.
