I sure wish i had some of y'alls humidity up here in North Carolina. I use just a tad of shredded shpag (not big chunks) so the mix won't dry out quite so fast.
I made the first baskets for some seedling stanhopeas i only got this spring, so we'll see if they hold up ok.

Hi Cactuseed, I think the cactus you called a saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) is actually an organ pipe cactus (Stenocereus thurberi.) That would make sense, because saguaros don't last long in warm, humid summers, and organ pipes are fine with that.
