Default Porch rearranged...

My rearranged porch space.

Thanks to the poster, and I'm sorry I forgot the name to give them credit, that posted the idea of using ironed laundry racks for hanging orchids!

Got these two new ones at an orchid fair yesterday. A very pretty yellow and burgundy Cattleya and a greenish with yellow centers Dendrobium. They had no id.

Would've gotten a couple more, but they were mainly selling the baby's or plantlings, bare rooted and seedlings. The large showy ones were the samples and not for sale.

Fell in love with a huge Vanda, now I have to find one

Anyway, now I have an even 25 orchids. All out on the porch in order of their light requierements, more or less. The 4 Phals are all the way in the back of the table in front of them is a Miltonia, which I think needs less light also. The Dends and Catts and Onc's are front and center.

Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks

Lilac, I'm glad to know the rolling clothing racks worked out for you. They have been a blessing for me, allowing me to roll the orchids under the shelter of our balcony during the continued rain we have been blessed with recently. Your new 'chids are lovely. The cattleya is marvelous! Happy growing!

I love your porch! I bet you are able to leave them out year-round... Totally jealous of that, btw! Lovely new Catt! I like that the racks have wheels... I may have to find some wheels to put on my wire shelves! Great idea Picotee, and Lilac!

That's what the orchids were potted in when I bought them. They had smaller openings.

So I did cut bigger slits in them. With a scissor and some muscle power, but it wasn't too hard
