First of all, what a beautiful view you have from those windows. I would love to have scenery like that in my back yard. The large windows should give you plenty of light for several kinds of orchids. I think you'll have great success.

My thinking was to set up in winter so the light won't be too intense and let the plants adjust with the season. Seems to have worked - no sunburn in the few weeks I have had it set up. I definitely have more room for plants!
I have a lot more phals I can move up to the window and make room under my lights for more sensitive stuff.

My house is glass walled on two sides, East (shown) and South. The south side is getting a cymbidium soon! My vandas I will continue to grow under lights though - I get such great results and watering is much easier down in the basement where the lights are.
