I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

And the worst part? I knew immediately that you were in Canada from your displays. Around here (at least in my region) we are lucky to see even a few well designed displays. You are using all of the principles of flower arranging and it shows.
I confess my displays suck compared to yours... Good job!

Royal Botanical gardens show 2006
COOS (three years ago I think)
Southern Ontario Orchid Society show 2006
Central Ontario Orchid Society show 2004
London Orchid SHow 2006
Rob...I looked into coming to Michigan to display but the hassle of getting my plants over the border wasn't worth it. I'd love to come and see a show there one day though. I have given talks up here on doing displays if that's of any interest to you.

Oh and yes those are schillies and that is a Lady Isabel. Great eyes!!!  In fact Paph Lady Isabel 'Carlisle'. It got Best Paph in Show that day. |

Well, unfortunately, I doubt if I'll ever get up to your area for one of your talks but I'd love to hear some of your ideas on show designs
I think a lot of people see a display and are struck by the beauty of it without realizing the effort that goes into putting together such a work of art...
