Well. . .I am already up to two of the little regular ones. One is mounted and the other is on order and on the way. I'd like to try to pot it in the Japanese style.
But I want a variegated one and one of the bean form and I really like the ones with tiger strips, so what is that to get started? Five?

I found another orchid I'd like to add, if that's ok! I don't really know if it's a good possible project plant, but I really like this one. I read that it can take temps from the low 30's to high 90's.
Sarcochilus fitzgeraldii IOSPE
I found it at the following places:
USA: SBOE
Europe: Schwerter orchideenzucht

Hi Camille
That's lovely and at first I was excited about adding it to the list...but...Orchidwiz says it gets large...and...it's an endangered species. I won't get any orchid that is considered endangered unless I know for sure it's been cultivated and not taken from the earth:
DEC | NSW threatened species - Ravine Orchid

Wow, I had no clue it was so endangered! As for the size, I researched it a bit before proposing it, and I've only seen it listed as a smallish plant. I say that it does get large in the sense that it is a creeping sort of plant, but nothing a division couldn't fix!
If its endangered status is an issue, I'll look for a similar Sarcochilus. I find their flowers absolutely stunning!

I'm happy to hear you agree
We still have a few weeks before any decisions will be made...so the search continues

I totally agree with you, Sue on not including an orchid harvested illegally .. but I wouldn't think that a reputable vendor would not take orchids from the wild .. could you reconsider Cattleyopsis cubensis ...(I can and will check with the vendors that carry it whether it is cultivated if that what it takes ..)
Please

If you all really want it on the list, I'll put it back...but I will not get that one if it is the winner.

I looked it up, and I so far have not found an EU vendor for it, so it may be out of the running anyways. Rarer orchids are very rare in Europe unfortunately. It's a nice one anyways!

If that is the case, then don't put it back on the list ..
