No, I'm not going to a show. I'm just going up to a judging center next weekend to become a student judge. I figured any first bloomers I have will come along with me just because

I think it was 6 months too, that's why I said maybe enter in a "ribbon only" class. (It might not matter there.) Trying to find something online about it.

I didn't think it mattered how long you had it. I mean, how would they verify something like that? It is something to ask when I go up there next weekend for sure, because I didn't even consider that before.

I recently joined our MOS here in Maryland and that is how I took what they said. So I was like oh no was I wrong or not. I guessing we all need to find out what is right when taking orchids in for judging.

It is not specifically defined in the judging rules. I'm an AOS student judge.

Well some places it is. Here is from the Maryland Orchid Society. The first line says:

Exhibitors must own the plant or plants for at least six months.

Perhaps that is only for show table then, not AOS judging. With AOS judging you don't even need the whole plant, you can send in cut flowers, so I don't know how they would be able to tell if the person had owned it for 6 months or not.

Yeah, I couldn't find any of that for AOS. I just remember it being mentioned on OB in the past. I can't wait to see your bloom

I was of the understanding you had to own it for 6 months for AOS judging too. They say that around here. Otherwise you could go to the show or prior to it, buy a beauty and enter it. The winning would have nothing to do with your skill. I think it should be a rule if it isn't.
