Here's my list:

1 Leptotes bicolor or unicolor. These seem quite interesting, nice coloration, a lot different than anything that I have. For the space conscious, these are supposedly minis. I like the bicolor more than the unicolor, but they both seem pretty similar.

2 Holcoglossum kimballianum (labelled vanda kimballianum on the vendors, holco on orchidspecies). http://www.orchidspecies.com/holkimballiana..htm Seems interesting, definitely unlike anything I have and supposedly fragrant.

3 Paph lowii. Seems like a great paph, multifloral, cool looking, and I don't have any slippers and have wanted to get started on them, just haven't gotten around to it.

4 Holcoglossum wangii. Also apparently sometimes called a Vanda. I like the Kimballianum better, but this one is also sweet, very delicate looking.

5 Dendrobium kingianum. Seems pretty similar to the hybrid dend I already have, but it's hard to resist regardless.

... If this one is off the list lets take it away and add one that doc has ... Dendrobium kingianum, sweet. I just could not stop at 5 "want's and have to have's" had to add more to the list just in case one was eliminated. Tks doc.

Just my 2 cents. I'd prefer our choice not be a paph or phrag, although I'll go along with anything.

I've got a couple, and I guess they just don't "float my boat". Although I've felt that way about others in the past, and later learned to appreciate them. So maybe I just need more experience with them.

until recdntly I had one lonely paph and I was fine with that. THEN, I started hanging out here and meeting all my new friends! I am now awaiting the delivery of my fifth in just the last few weeks. I always thought I wasn't crazy about them, but the more I looked at the different types, I found there are some I really like.

Paphs have a tendency to do that to you. Looking at a photo doesn't do them (or any orchid) justice. Let see, I was allowed to have some play money at tax time and I turned around and indulged myself with a paph. So far it has been REALLY easy to grow. The like phal lighting but to maintain constant moisture, but I don't suggest bottom watering unlike most phrags.

I like paph as well but did I not read along the line of these 18 pages that paph are slow growers. I know waiting for mine to pop a slipper is like waiting in line for "It's a Small World" at Disney. Could be reason enough to just buy for our own convenience verses for the project. ???
