Project 4 blooming
My project 4 plant opened today. I was so happy It has a couple other buds that will probably be open tomorrow. I just wanted to let every one know. Mine is one that came without a bud.

Excellent. Good for you. Good job!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Congratulations! Perhaps it is the photo, but the flower doesn't look to have the same form as what I have seen bloom so far?

Congrats! Great growing! I think Becca is right though. It looks like it may be missing some petals.

Congrats, Julie! Way to go! It will be interesting to see it when all of the flowers are open - be sure to post more photos, will you?

Congrats Julie!
If you got your plant with no spike on arrival, I believe you are our first to get blooms in that category!
Am I right?

I think Becca and Terri are right. Here is another picture, I hope you can see it a little better. I think it's missing a petal or two and they seem to be at odd angles. Hopefully the other buds will come out a little better.

Maybe the first bloomer just wanted to make a statement
It is still the first bloomer from those not received in spike
I'm sure the following blooms will be perfect

Congats, Julie! Mine came without a spike too, but no visible buds yet (still growing!)

Julie the bud to the right looks nice and fat. I'd bet that one will be normal. Can you tell if this is this plants very first blooming? Mine has bloomed before, there are the remnants of an old spike still visible. Sometimes a first bloomer does strange things. I have a P. equestris that had one bloom right in the middle of the spike that had no lip. All the other blooms looked normal. One of those oddities of nature I guess.
