Well pre-ordering for London is a bust for me. The flask I was going to pre-order is sold out. It probably was a little ambitious anyway (Phal braceana from Equatorial Plants). Roelke have some Kingidiums I like the sound of listed, but they are probably already traveling/setting up. So just going to have my fingers crossed there's something available at the show I like.

Otherwise I may be changing my vote to 'Any'! I know I'll be able to get something I like from Roelke, but can't be sure now I'll get a phal flask and the way my finances are it might be months before I can order anything online.

Personally I'd be willing to go with 'phal or any'. I think it would be nice to do all the same genus, and phals are easy and quick from flask. But if some folks really want to do something other than phals then I can live with that! (Especially if I can't find a phal flask I like!)

PS Hannah: it would probably be best to choose something you already grow well, rather than a genus that's totally new to you, since you are fairly new to orchids.

(But then you are talking to the nutter who buys just about anything they fancy really!)

Should we have a cut off date on the poll? Some of the flasks will sell out fast and it is time to pot them up here to take advantage of full grow season.

I haven't followed the project thread at all, but I currently have two unopened flasks growing my closet right now, so that is a potential source for the Canadians. I'll reiterate this on the project thread.

I voted for any only because phal species flasks seem to be non-existent in the states.

I think it wouldn't harm to let the poll run a couple of more days. But I think we've probably got most of the votes we are going to get. And right now, counting the one changed vote, it would only take another changed vote from phals to any to make it a tie.

Unfortunately it's not an option on the poll, but I think in the end the only fair way to call it is going to be 'get a phal if you can, but anything is acceptable if you can't or really don't want to'. That is unless we get a sudden rush of votes!

Either way, those going to shows this weekend I guess should see what they can find to buy! Try and get phal flasks if you can... I'm going this evening...

PS: Billc, you could always be the guinea pig for importing one from the EU....

+1! That's the best idea I've heard yet! Seems just like the "Any" option on the poll anyways, maybe I should change my vote

Bill- you don't have to get a species phal (unless you want to) any phal flask would do.

If anyone is looking for flasks of species, there are a bunch here

https://lab.troymeyers.com/flasking/...urn&sbs_page=1 I don't see any phals there though.

I have enough hybrid phals, everyone I know tries to give them to me after they half kill them.
I'm figuring that if my deflasking works and I wind up with 10-15 plants, I would have an easier time selling/ gifting/ trading species.

Default Bulbo flask

I thought what the heck and got a Cirrhopetalum dentiferum flask off e-bay - only $35 for 10+ plants including shipping. I have phal flasks at the lab so whichever way, I am in on this project

Hi Bill,

I just checked my Meyers reservation status and it shows that I have a green smile on my Phal gibbosa and it has been completely re-flasked. I'll email Troy and ask him when he expects it to be ready. If you are interested, we can split it. The flask is only big enough for 2 people split.
