Default My project 4

I was wondering whether or not anyone who got their Aerangis mounted, if the mounting material smells like sand (or why would it smell like sand)? I'm thinking that it might be overwatered although, I do let it dry out in between waterings. I water it every 2 to 3 days, mist it daily and actually let the wood mount get totally wet so it stays in the water for a while anyway.

Is it normal this soon after receiving it to have 1 leaf that already died and fell off and 2 that are browning and will be falling off soon? Other than the leaves browning, the plant looks great! It actually looks very healthy.

My thought is that I'm caring a little too much for all of my orchids and should just let them tell me what they need.

My Aerangis had a small leaf die off after I rec'd it...I think it was probably shock from the trip, and a change in conditions...yours is probably fine...

By the sounds of it, you may be right. If you are misting daily, you probably only need to water once a week. Might want to hit it with a little fungicide, just to be safe. Although, it looks like the oldest leaves are dying off. I would keep an eye on it....if it continues, slow down with the water and give it a little break. If it stops, carry on....that is my opinion. Someone here might be able to help a little more.
