I wasn't part of the project, but loved the pics everyone posted so much I bought one a couple of months ago that is mounted on cork. It has a leaf that just opened to reveal 3 buds, and two more new growths are on there way. I hope I can do as well as you all have.

I had read to be very careful with watering once the buds are apparent since it it really easy to rot them. Some advice was to stop watering altogether, but I have more new growths coming. So I am being super careful.

I mounted mine bare-root so I water every day and get to enjoy the beautiful root-tips. I only had one new growth this round so perhaps my soph isn't as happy as I am with the situation. :-|

I had 3 new growths on mine this fall but no blooms. Now it is putting out a ton of new rootsand a couple more new growths so I guess it is happy. I did move it into a terrarium a couple months ago maybe that is the secret...Jean

Congrats Leafmite! Will be watching for your blooms.

I kept watering mine right through it flowering by soaking the mount and letting it dry again before re-soaking.

I just watered mine by soaking the whole plant buds and all. They just opened today! I will post a pic soon. I can see how wet cold buds could rot though. Especially since these guys have such tiny fragile buds.

Here are some pictures of my cernua. I wish I had a better camera to get better pictures but oh well.
