From what I can gather, ideally, it should not be blooming, just blooming size.

As an aside, I actually wanted to suggest another plant, Dendrobium trantuanii (IOSPE PHOTOS). But again I'm having problems finding a vendor in Canada for it! It's also a little above the price limit on the US sites. Oh well, here are the vendors I've got for it anyway, just in case:

EU
Orchideeen-shop.nl - Dendrobium
Dendrobium trantuanii - Orchideen der Schwerter Orchideenzucht
http://www.zinterhof-orchideen.at/Z_...iste_09_07.pdf
http://www.orchideenwlodarczyk.de/sh...nii-p-716.html

US
Andy's Orchids - Orchid Species - Dendrobium - trantuanii
Carolina Orchids - SPECIES Data (listed under syn. Den. tuahannii)

CA
Dendrobium Species and Hybrids(updated on March 4, 2012 (Refresh))(large seedling only )

I like this one so much it will most likely end up being a TC to the project plant!

I personally don't have more than one of the same species/hybrids so I'm not impacted - but the mutant for example has about 25 equestris'ssss, many of the same cultivar I think , I lost track. Someone else has sophrinitis c, and another person has multiple angraecum didieri's.....
I don't know if this was an issue in prior years and how it was handled. Additionally I don't know if the rules specify the size of the pp - I can't get anything that's too large for a windowsill - I know I don't have to participate but I would like to. Maybe have 2 voting categories ? 1 for windowsill/mounted and another for larger - instead of top 2............maybe I am making this too complicated
Oh I wish I had 25 equestris... I only have seven actually, eight if I include my dying aurea, but, well, it's slowly but surely losing its life.

Lets change the subject from my equestris to the member project:

If plant A gets the most votes and one or two persons have several of this particular chid and really don't feel like they want add another one, is it possible that they can choose to buy plant B? Or does this mean that the entire purpose of the members project gets lost if it's done like this.

How about we all get to choose between the top two chids, those who want can buy both while others maybe only settle for one? This to give all a chance to get at least one chid they don't have several of?

This is hard...

You may always buy whatever plants you want, but you will need to start another thread about it. It won't be the project plant. At least, that's how it's been in the past.

I remember last year, I was the biggest fan of Ang didieri, and not the gastro that eventually won. So a few of us bought the Ang didieri as a TC, and shared notes just as you'd do in a project. But, it wasn't "the" project orchid. We all can learn from anyone, regardless of if the orchid we buy is associated with the project.

As a side note, you could always start your own project based on size requirements/mini's.

Wow, that's a list for sure. One comment. I've bought mannii from Hausermann's before, and they are nbs/seedlings. Mine might bloom this year (about 1 year after purchase), but it is still a small plant.
