This will be my first time doing a project. So I was wondering if at some time during the process of choosing a plant if we all post a list of plants that we already have that have been suggested. I know it will be almost impossible to find a plant that none of us have already but it would be nice to pick one that most of us don't have.

I like that one too, but referenced link to Clouds in Canada only has it as a medium seedling. I think by the rules - plant has to be a BS, no?

It's a good point Wynn, but with probably 40 people participating, it'll be hard to avoid doubles. It would be too much work to try and compile a list of everyones plants though. Camille and the other helpers will put the list together of potential plants, and well go from there. Cross your fingers

This is only a medium size seedling at Cloud's, as is many of their plants. They have great plants but it's rare to bet a mature plant.

I know that hawaiianbotanicals has a good number of S. cernua, as well as several other Sophronitis species
I saw them two weeks ago and they are in good shape, acclimated since more than a year, having new growths now and bloomed in the past few months.

I think it would limit choices too much to try to get something no one had. Many of the easier to find plants are sold in all three places at reasonable prices because they are popular and have been in cultivation for a while. If some people already have the chosen plant, they should console themselves by purchasing one (or two) of the others on the list. : )

Thanks for the reply zxyqu and Leafmite. I will cross my fingers that the chosen plant isn't one I already have. I don't mind buying a second plant if I already have it. I already have two S. cernua plants though so I wouldnt probably buy a third. Takes up a place where another plant on my wish list could go!

I don't have one of these (being a newbie and all) and it's definitely my favourite of all listed so far. Guess which one I'm voting for?

If you "accidently" misplace both of yours into the waste basket, then you can get a new one! I've got such great ideas... *proud*
