Another vote cast, only 10 remaining...

Which puts Brassavola nodosa and Cattleya intermedia out of the race

The only ones that could now become our project plant are
the Aerangis, the Masdie, or the Leptotes.

PS. I've just seen a photo (in a book) of the Brassavola nodosa out of flower, dormant... ugh!! Not pretty! Do these go dormant in cultivation? Or is that just in its native habitat?

Great job Dave. Not lame at all.

Nearing the 1/2 furlong pole this has become a 3 orchid race folks. Aera is holding on but is being challenged VERY strongly by Ms. Mas as she has made a surge to towards the front position and passed leptotes as if she were standing still.

All others seem to have lost their will to win and seem to have retired to the Orchid Club for a cold soda or lemon ade.

Time to vote folks....

Talorek

As soon as these folks decide to vote, we can move on to the next step...

hint, hint, hint

I hope so, too! The Aerangis is a nice flower, it just needs to be airbrushed, or something.

You can get the Masdie in a yellow form - it would sort of add to the excitement of flowering, seeing what color form everyone got....

Although not the showiest of the masdevallias, Masd. infracta makes up for its shortcomings with extremely variable flowers and ease of culture. Flower color can range from a grapey purple to almost white to a golden yellow.

I've done a Google search for Masdie infracta and it comes up as available in the U.S. at SBOE and at Duncan's Flora.

I spoke to Duncan, won't have enough to supply us with the amount we need...

and haven't checked with SBOE on whether they'd have enough, but their's is only available in pink.

7 votes left...

Leptotes put up a good fight but is now out of the running!

One more vote for the Aerangis and it will be out of reach even for the Masdie....

We're coming down to the wire!! Will we know today?!

I just sent a PM to the final 7 we haven't heard from.

If they are interested in continuing, they should vote ASAP and not hold the rest of us back from continuing.

If they are no longer participating, I need to know and their names will be removed from the list and we can move on.

Hopefully, we'll have a final verdict soon
