Fantastic! Please bear with me as I didn't participate in earlier projects. FWIW, my wife is excited about this project. She thinks this will be neat.

I think it is up to you, weather you mount or leave it alone. I'm guessing here but, If we all get them from the same vendor, same size and same way (potted or mounted) it will be a equal start for all.

Hear ya! That's fine by me. Just haven't done this before.

Exactly!

In our last project, John at Parkside went and picked out the number of plants we would need and kept them aside from the others he had. They all started in the same stage of growth.

In Project 1, Andy and his brother Harry from Andy's Orchids did the same for us and so did Oak Hill in Project 2

That's why it's VERY important to include your OB user name with your order.

Not to worry, Ross...asking questions is the only way to learn

OK, let's get some links detailing how to mount orchids properly in the "how to" thread I started.

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-proj-4-a.html

Is that worth a sticky?

No problem linking to other forums?

Okay, it's a "sticky"...

we've had a few lengthy conversations here at OB with imounting instructions. I'll post the links as soon as I find them

Feel free to find something else too

Great idea

I'm thinking about putting mine in a hanging vanda basket....a really little one. Think that would work? It would still be potted sort of but the blooms could still be pendulous. I don't want to mount because my RH is pretty low (averages around 40+% in summer). It's also really hot here. Those two together makes mounting seem like a bad idea. Yes? No?

Rhonda, A 'TC' is a 'Travelling Companion' - or those orchids that you buy to keep the project plant company in the box when it is being delivered to you.

Sue, I am not sure that we have the option to purchase in pots. The confirmation of availability that I have from Orchideen Wubben has all plants the same size mounted on cork. I am waiting to hear about the place recommended by badlydrawnboy (Phil) Schwerter Orchideenzucht.

For those in Europe, would anyone be against a mounted plant?
