So, I believe mine should be arriving today! I'm so excited!

So, for when it does arrive, what does everyone intend to pot theirs in medium and pot wise? I'd had to put it in something that it would not appreciate. I have oncidium, paph and phrag, sphag, terrestrial and phal mixes available already but not sure which one or combo to use.

Paul, mine should come in on Thursday. Most of what I've read is medium bark, though I've seen some Sphag recommendations, and some charcoal mixes as well. I think I'll stick with the bark, unless mine arrives mounted (They offered baskets or mounted). Seems like they like water when media approaches dryness, so if it's warm enough sphag might be ok. Post some pics when they arrive!

I can tell you that the 2" pot from Hausermann is not blooming sized but they are really NICE plants.

I bought this as a traveling companion to last summer's project and mine came with 2 plants. They were NBS last year and I expected them to bloom this season.

We had a weird spring and summer so they may not bloom until next season.

I grow in a shadehouse in the summer here in Memphis. It is HOT sometimes reaching 90. These are growing like weeds now and really putting out growth.

They love to be on a mount. Mine are mounted very tightly on driftwood and the roots are crawling up the wood. They like driftwood with some ridges where the roots can take hold.

Mine are getting full filtered sun through a 40% shadecloth. They get watered in the AM and the PM after the sun is setting.

I'm not going to buy another one of these since there were 2 in the pot last year. I'll contribute to the project based on mine being BS this year (I hope).

If you want a BS, I would suggest that you call the vendors to check.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure whether or not they were BS. Sounds like they will do great here in S. Fl. NBS works for me.

I was so happy this plant made the cut. I've wanted to purchase one for awhile.
Mine should arrive tomorrow. It is suppose to be NBS...but you know how that goes!

Mine's In!
Reid over at Kawamoto's is fantastic. I can't go out to Hawaii to see him and his greenhouse, so why waste a good excuse to bring a bit of Hawaii to me! Here's the excellent condition Tricho I was sent. It's an interesting basket/mount setup that I really like given this vertical species. It's nearly 12" tall, with a couple new roots coming out of the intersects, and several newer roots in the basket.
If you haven't bought yours yet, I'd totally recommend Kawamoto's, a great eBay seller!

WOW! I got mine today and at first I thought a green sheath towards the top was the start of a bloom stalk, but now I'm wondering if it isn't a new root based on your pics.

I was also SHOCKED at how large it already was, and the massive root system it came with. The longest root I measured at about 3 feet!

Posting pics in a moment. Uploading them currently.
