okay i will. yesterday i thought it was fully opened, and the sepals were reflexed and the shape was atrocious. but this morning, it seems like the sepals have "rebounded" and are now not reflexed. idk why, but im so happy the bloom is nicer than i thought!

Default My Trichoglottis brachiata currently in bloom

I have a 4 ft. currently blooming with two babies sprouting on each side of the middle part forming a clump (see pics on my album)
I am planning to buy a wooden trellis to make it crawl cuz the roots are all going berzerk on me...
why? whats up with this orchid?
its not hard to find...I got mine 3 yrs ago at the flower district on 28th street and 8th av NYC
this is its 4th bloom seven buds but only 4 opened
the flower smells like anise seeds and lemon and can fill the whole room with its fragrance...

Danny~~

Mine is growing simarly to yours.

Bud--please give more details on your plant, growing habits, etc. I see that you live in Manhattan. I assume that during the cooler times of the year, your plant is indoors?

WOW Bud, that's an amazing looking one. I now see why Andy's orchids used some sort of compressed stick mount about a foot and a half long to mount it on. Look in my folder for pictures of it.

@ Pedidiva, it is indoors in winter. I first got it 8inches in lenghth March 2009 and now it is more than 4 feet with roots all growing in all directions coming from the sides of the plant at every 4 leaf intervals(meaning I can cut the plants into pieces and pot it. I want it to have keikes and form clumps to have magnificent blooms). I am planning to buy a 6 ft trellis for it to climb and crawl in.
@Paul, it really needs a pole to climb or crawl in...the tip of my plant is going sideways crooked because it is looking for a place to stick itself in...as of now it is bareroot hanging on a 4 inch redwood basket...but a wooden trellis will surely improve its growth. You have a healthy happy plant...

Update~~~

My nubbies do not seem to have increased in size. the aerial roots look good. The new leaf growth is continuing. Seems to be stalling. I am wondering if this is due to hot weather?

How are Y'all's plants doing?
