I've never bought from them, but I found Enc. polybulbon at "dustindorton.com" and "Hamlyn Orchids". I would also like to suggest Sedirea Japonica, they carry it at J&L Orchids.

Jasen, I suggested Sedirea japonica, and it had been suggested and discussed before that as well. Sue found that the plant only lives about 3 or 4 years in cultivation... so it was ruled out as a project plant. (I was going to get one as a travelling companion in any case...)

Epidendrum pseudepidendrum - OK!

Cattleya forbesii - OK, of course!

Encyclia polybulbon - OK! (as Dinema polybulbon)

Good chat!
Suddenly I remembered: one of "approved" plants in the last chat is not available in Brazil:

Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica

Unfortunately the most beloved!

Shakkai, I used the syn. names in my search fo Pleuthallis ornata. In Ecuagenera catalogue the plant is under "Pleurothallis ornata", but not available this time..

Wow! I've got lots to catch up on here!

I apologize for missing the chat last night but it started thundering here at around 5 pm yesterday and was still going strong until about 20 minutes ago! I was going through withdrawals, for sure!

How about we set up our next chat for Tues night at 7pm EST, so the folks that were unavailable for the weekend can join us...and if there are no thunderstorms coming through, I'll be there too

Hi Frederico

I think we are going to have to prepare to take a gamble here...if I remove the Phalaenopsis hieroglyphica because it's not available in Brazil then I'll have to also remove the Masd tovarensis, C luteola and C walkeriana because they are not available in Canada.

I say we leave them all on the list and take our chances with the possibility that somebody might not be able to complete the project, as unfortunate as that prospect is

Any other opinions?

Do we have 10 without the ones not available to all?
and if we do keep them, can we add a cochleantes?

The only other opinion is to keep looking for more orchids
