ok, and here my project plant... it finally made the turn

my trick this year and it helped: reduced water in Winter and as much light as it could receive (temps never below 16°C)

25 flowers and a great fragrance of coconut oil....

As I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread.
But what's your potting mix...
And by less water... how much less?

I'm trying to trick mine into blooming.

Mine is blooming now as well, 3 of the 8 buds are open. It's at work, so I have to remember to bring my camera one day. My co-workers love the smell. Mine got the opposite conditions from yours though... I gave it more water and fertilizer than last winter, and while it's in a south window, this winter was so cloudy (cloudiest winter on record even) that it really didn't get much light. Yet this is the first time it blooms.... I really don't know what makes this species tick!

Well there is still hope for mine. Great to see those flowers Ramón

At least mine is growing lots. It got less water over the winter and as bright as I could get in our cloudy winter.

it is growing in medium pine bark... and by less water, I mean I sometimes forgot to water for two week and the pot was VERY dry

... but normally tried to wait until dry and water again..

Rosie i'm like you.. still waiting for this one to flower.
On the other hand the Mltonia spectabilis project plant just flowered-first bud opened yesterday!

I'm very sad to be going on vacation until the 14th, the older blooms are likely to be gone once I return, they're been open for over 3 weeks. I love the scent, it's fantastic! Makes me almost look forward to going to work every morning, lol.

I'm not is this project, but I acquired one of these about 6 months ago. Mine has lots of brown bract covering the leaves and stems. I tried to pick some off and ended up pulling some new growth that was hidden inside. Ramon's and Camille's plants look so clean and fresh. Do you pick all the dried stuff off meticulously or are there different varieties and some are just less messy?
