Los Osos was at a show that King of orchid growing attended in early July, and he said that their Maxillaria tenuifolias looked excellent.

Just as a heads up...
The roots on Max tenuifolia look nothing like the ones you guys are used to.
They start off with yellow tips and a beige velamen layer. As they get older, the velamen turns brown. The tips remain yellow. At first glance they look like they're dead, but they're not.

I've ordered my Maxillaria tenuifolia (and Amesiella monticala) from Oak Hill Gardens. Great people to deal with, and huge supporters of orchid societies. Hermann and Dorothy Pigors were exceptionally gracious hosts of orchid gatherings. Their daughter and son-in-law are running the business now. A truly class operation.

Oak Hill...
I also went with them. And picked up an Angraecum didieri to keep it company. Hey, shipping's the same for more than one plant, so I'm actually saving money buying two. Right? 
At least that's what I told my partner.
