They're here!! YAY!!! I have to admit, the Rhyn is my first vandaceous orchid and I'm a little worried, but we'll see what happens! It looks overall pretty good, roots are thick and strong with new growth on the ends of the ones hanging out of the pot. Also seems to be new leaf growth out the top of the plant.

The leaves overall felt a bit limp on unpacking but it was chilly today (in the 40's... its been in the 80s all the rest of the week) so my hunch is that it was just cold and a bit pouty from the shipping.

I set them both up in my little orchid-house (one of those portable greenhouses hubby got me for $40 or so) to warm them back up and put them in a nice humid area. I didn't want to water them right away afraid of shocking them, so we'll see, maybe tomorrow. The media in both pots seemed rather dry on arrival.

Second pic has the Rhyn with the Laelia anceps I also got for the Interm. project.

Question

Hey Dave,

I'm late to the party. Connection problems...white screen for over a month...

Can I join the project? I'm in orchid withdrawal. I haven't purchased an orchid all winter.

Yeah!!! I got all the plants for my projects today. I got the Rhyn from Hauserman's along with a TC. What gorgeous plants. I will never hesitate to order from them or Andy's in the future. Posting pics tomorrow.

A drawback of the coelestis is that its flowers last only one or two weeks.
I think IOSPE and orchidweb both say flowers are long lasting.

Hello everyone! I am a bit late ordering my Rhych project plant. I can see there is a big range in price for this one. Do you all mind telling me where you got yours and how much you spent on it (including shipping)? Also, if it is blooming size or not. Having trouble deciding what to do on this one. Thanks!
