Is this also sold as R gigantea without the retusa bit? If so Nardotto have it in red or white flowering size at 15 euro plus tax as well as one that appears to have white flowers with a mauve lip. At that price I'm in, Dave

Sounds like a plan. Just get the variety your pocketbook will allow. I really don't think the growing habits are any different.

Here is another useful tip for those trying to purchase both the warm and intermediate project plant from the same vendor. Our member Ted (trdyl) who is unable to particpate with us, found both the original warm project plant and the intermediate project plant at Camp Lot A Noise Tropicals. You can get both for under $50.00 together and you can choose a color form for the warm growing project plant! Thanks Ted! Still tempted to buy from Oak Hill even though they aren't bloom sized...at their prices I could get a travel companion! Muahahaha!

I like the idea of switching to the different Rhyn, sounds like it'd be easier all around if we do. I'll wait to order though so I can get all plants together. Hopefully some other folks chime in on this soon though, I'm excited to get some new 'chids

Hello Hedge.

Rhy. gigantea and Rhy. retusa are two different species.

Oak Hill has it there Rhy. retusa listed as Rhy retusa va. gigantea....so I'm confused...lol...which one is it? The Rhy retusa SBOE has listed looks different....but I like them all

Hi,
Hausermans has it for $22.50 and it's BS if that helps. Here's the link:

Oh in reading through again I found that this was already mentioned.

I would still like to get this one if that's OK.

They both look like Rhy. retusa to me. This link shows some of the variation.
