No your welcome to participate, but I do want to encourage everyone to try and locate at least one plant that works. Its not hard, just go to any vendor and look at there species plants and pick one that you like. See if its available in Canada and Europe using the links in the first post. As we all know Size matter's, 18 inches and under and know more the 25 bucks. Give it a try. Oh yea make sure we haven't already used it in a previous project, also in the first post.

I was just getting my ideas tossed into the ring, I figured the Dend would be too big for the project, though I have hubby convinced that if I'm going to order project plants, I might as well order a few extras if I'm going to pay shipping

I'm still looking to see if I can find all of them in Europe and Canada, I'll post links if I can find them.

Just found the Dendrochilium wenzelli in Canada: Ontario at this site:

Orchids in our Tropics for $30 Canadian
Its a little above the price range in Canada I think... but I'm still looking for another source as well. So it looks like the Dend and the Zygo from my list are feasible.

Thanks nenella for finding that in Europe for me, I knew I saw it on that site, just forgot to link it.

I'm probably wrong, but in the vain hope that it might be true- does the $25 cap include shipping cost?
(poor college student)
It would be super exciting if we chose one that I could afford.

So, do I have this straight:

I believe I live in "intermediate" conditions (not too warm, not too cold, yes?)
So I would suggest some plants just for the group (intermediate) that I would participate in?
Make sure they're available, right size, etc. of course.

Sorry but no it does not include shipping but hopefully we can get a group discount from the vendor of choice, which will help with the cost. Also the plant that is chosen could well be a 15.00 plant to begin with. I believe a previous plant chosen was 12 bucks. Since we have had 9 projects and some with multiple plants in the past, it is getting harder to find plants that everyone can get. So we had to increase the price and size. We certainly understand if you have to back out later. It's all about learning more about our hobby. Thanks for participating
