I have already given my reason for not participating. I would have bowed out had the obvious winner been a dracula or a masdie; don't have conditions for those either. I have a hard enough time accepting the loss of a plant that I wanted and purchased that I won't buy one that I know will only slowly concede defeat on my part and die.

:coverlaugh: Nah, I'd rather just let it drop.

I don't want anybody to feel uncomfortable...I personally hate those little back and forth "things" that drag on in some forums. There's no reason for it :)

On to bigger and better things

Wendy 02-04-2007 12:44 PM

Okie dokie.

Hey how about if i do go back in with you guys...will you let me? I promise to get a Paph venustum and I will enjoy it. Who knows....maybe i will like it this time.

So if it's okay, please put me back in and change my vote to paph venustum. (Could we please get the Canadian ones from Clouds?)

cb977 02-04-2007 12:54 PM

ROFL!!! You are too funny :)
If you really want to do it, great! Please don't feel like you were pushed into buying something you don't want
:(

I'm waiting for some information on a resource for our Canadian members. Paramount only has the alba version and they may be smaller plants than the plants from Parkside here in the States.
I haven't looked recently, what's the description of the Paph venustum at Cloud's? :scratchhead:

It doesn't matter where you guys order from...but it really should be from one vendor for all of you to make them as close as possible in size and quality.

The names may be inconsistent in the poll results but the number for L. perrinii is 4 and Paph venustrum has 11 (including Wendy ;) )

Ludisia 02-04-2007 02:27 PM

I'm very pleased if P. venustum win:biggrin: though I didn't vote it.

Toddybear 02-04-2007 02:57 PM

Wendy, Cloud's only has seedling P. venustums. Orchids in our Tropics has blooming size for $45! Ouch! I know you don't want to go with Paramounts but theirs are large seedlings at $30. I'll have to opt for Paramount...shopping in person I'll get the largest seedling they have.

Tindomul 02-04-2007 08:00 PM

Hey, last time I checked, L. perrinni had 6 votes. What the heck happened? :bad:

I for one am coming around to the idea of this paph coming into my life. If anything, and I don't like the bloom I'll cut it and give it to my girlfriend. :scratchhead::hmm if a rose means love, what does a warty Paphiopedilum mean? :blushing:

Hello everyone!

I`m totally cool with the vote.... Paph venustum, it will be ! :-)

Just a suggetsion for project # 4....

Why don`t we chose randomly a genus from a list of genera most of us can grow and then, let the members submit their plant they would like to have !

That way, all members will know exactly what genus it is before participating or not to the project !

Just a tought....

We'll take that idea under consideration for the next project  I'm game for just about anything :cheer:

Tindomul 02-04-2007 09:26 PM

I like that idea as well. I wish I would have been more active in the project. I'm sure I would have suggested a Paph or two.
