Thank you for sharing Sandy. It looks great! Did you notice smell on yours? How are you growing yours? When do you water? How much light? Humidity etc? Just curious as I want to know if I'm doing right with my tiny one.

Hello Nanella, you did a good job on capturing this flower. It's beautiful and your plant looks very healthy!
Today I noticed a tiny swelling on one of the spikes How long does it take before this (probably) bud will show me the flower? I've read something about 1 month?

I wonder if there are smelling and non-smelling clones.

Another Haraella question: do they make keiki's and where? On a flower stem like Phal's do, from the stem between the leaves? I tried to find the answer on the www but couldn't find anything about this.

Hi Blueszz. No fragrance that I noticed. I decided not to repot this one when I received it. It was already in spike and being I know nothing about these little guys, didn't want to disturb it. I'm giving this one bright, filtered light and watering every other day, on average. I'm in Fla., growing on a screened patio so the humidity it's receiving is plentiful.

Good luck with yours and happy growing to you and everyone else!

Mine arrived spikeless, but in the last week or so has put out 2 new spikes! Hooray!
I've done nothing special with it...just water and fertilize and it seems happy to just sit there in the pot that it came in and grow...
I'll post some photos later.

My Haraella started opening up a bloom yesterday! And as soon as I got up from bed this morning, I took a sniff...and definitely got a hint of lemony fragrance!

Need to figure out how to get a photo...my digital camera has stopped communicating with my computer for some reason. (I think due to recent OS update.) But will try to get pics up as soon as I can!

I'll show you what I'm doing. As humidity on sunny days sometimes gets way to low for Haraella, I keep the humidity around the plant up by covering it with a clear Phal. pot. I wet this from the inner side several times a day, when the moist beads almost have evaporated. The air flow must be good as I have to re-wet the plastic pot very often. During the nights I don't cover the plant, besides I have fan running almost 24/7

As you can see below, one of the spikes is swelling, so I guess a bud is on it's way! A root that stopped growing (before I got the plant) decided to grow again (on the right). It's potted in fine bark with perlite.
I water by weight of the pot and because the weight is so hard to determine I just put it on a scale each morning
It came with the brown spots on the stem and base of the leafs, it doesn't progress, I'm not worried about it.

Below, start of a bud, front view.

Here's as good a picture as I'll be able to muster for now...taken with my laptop iSight camera.
