I was told it is 3/4 cochleata and the flower looks almost identical. I can't wait to see it in bloom!
Nice haul, The E. 'Green hornet' does look just like cochleata. I was given 2 of them and both are in spike. I put one in my Oak tree and it reminds me of the strand. Good luck with the Ghost and please keep me updated on it . Always interested in hearing how people grow it. And of course the project plant look great!

No, I went to the orchid show and sale that was in Houston over the weekend. There was a ton of vendors there as usual.

I did not get near one of everything since there were probably thousands of species there. lol

Oh, and I am more into supporting Andy's. (grin) I am a big time odd species person so Andy's gets a lot of my money. LOL

My haraella is on her way and I want to make everyone aware of how wonderful Andreas Kopff is I have had a nightmare with payment for my orchid I didnt realise when I ordered it I couldnt pay online, they sent me a bank number to pay for the orchids ( i bought two) and I thought fair enough went to my online banking and couldnt do it so called my bank and got put through to international payments that wanted £10 to process the payment I was sorta rude to them and hung up I rang 6 different banks and they all wanted between £15 and £30 to process the payment and the post office wanted £12 so I sent them a short email( short as I dont know german and dont know how much they know of english) and this was the reply

Dear Mrs. McKay,
we will have soon PayPal but it still takes a few weeks. You can also
pay by credit card. You can fax the numbers and exp. date (0049 991 3432
23) or I call you up next week and ask for the details. Further, if you
go to the Peterbourough Orchid Show in June you can pay there. Just let
me know.
Thank you!

Best Regards

Andreas Kopf

How kind of a company who I have never ordered from before to allow me to possibly wait until JUNE to pay for orchids they have already mailed, I cant make it to that orchid show it is too far away for me so I will either call with my card details or wait for paypal. I have never come across such nice people before I expected them to demand payment immediatly. the little guys havent arrived yet but should do soon.

Carrie, I hope those are not your actual credit card numbers?!

If so, you need to edit your post and take them out fast.

EDIT: Never mind, that is a phone number I guess. Sorry, I am in the states so I am not used to seeing numbers that look like that.

Sorry

LOL...believe me, there are lots of Andy's supporters here too! If they could have supplied us with the plant we needed at this time, we would have been ordering through them. We have no favorites here although Oak Hill and Andy's are the first two places I think of when I feel the need to check out the chids

Oh no, I was not pitting one against the other. I was just saying that I tend to have more problems with Andy's taking all my money because I love their odd and sometimes hard to find species collection.

I swear I should just have a portion of my check automatically go to Andy's every two weeks. It would be a lot easier and no different to how things already are. LOL

They are great for species lovers. No wait, they are horrible for species lovers or at least for those like me who have NO self control and end up sending all our money their way (even bill money some times, lol.)

The Green Hornet is now classified as Prosthechea, and is a year-round bloomer. I have several divisions of this, and it's the only plant I've ever seen bloom from a 1-bulb division.....and the bulbs get huge!
