Well, my Haraella is officially dead and buried. This plant was a little bit too delicate for me and my conditions. Oh well!

Mine has been struggling ever since I got it last May but it's still clinging to life and puts out a new growth every now and then. I think it really needs more light than I can give it. I live in hope!

My plant is doing great. The 2 spikes just keep making more buds, and right now each spike has a bud starting to open. It will be difficult to take a photo of both of them, since they face completely opposite directions. I think it enjoys life on the windowsill very much, especially because the humidity is is always between 60-85% since I live in a very wet country! I have a second Haraella (that's mounted) that I got in September 2008, and that one is only just growing it's first spike in my care.

Shirley, how much light is yours getting? My mounted one didn't do much either until this summer in France when I put it at a window where it got very dappled south sun most of the afternoon. Now back in the Netherlands (north-east window) it's getting 2 hours early morning sun, and spends the rest of the time right under a 55w power compact.

Camille, My plant only receives natural light and, now that we're into the fall season, it gets no direct sunlight at all, only reflected, as it's in a north-facing room. I've just shifted it to a bit better spot and given it some Superthrive. Hoping for better things.

Well here is Haella Fitzgerald in all her post show beauty.
She won a 3rd place. The third spike may be open for the Nashville show.

Yes they are! I'm so excited. I'm playing Darwin.

I plan to send the seeds to Troys for germination and flasking.

As I understand it, they take over 1 year to cook so I should be harvesting seed Junish 2010.

This is just the little plant that could. I have another bloom and 2 more spikes working.

I hope the poor thing doesn't crap out suddenly.

WOW! Mine decided that it needed a rest. It had 2 spikes that made 4 blooms each and now they have dried up. It's busy with a leaf now. But my other Haraella is in bud!!
