Ross, I hope you decide to join us. It's an interesting process and our members will be able to track it all through this and coming threads.

My only request is that unless you (not specifically you, but any member ) are not committed to following through with whatever plant is chosen for our April 1 order date...please don't have us include your choices in our decision-making process. It gets confusing enough with the valid suggestions let alone considering suggestions by members who are not committed to the project.

We had a large number of members involved in the last project, I'm hoping we get the same turnout or better

Whoever wants to be part of this project should post a note here stating their intention and location.
Once we get started, I will condense those on the list to a new thread and we'll start from there.

Get your wish-lists ready, folks.
Remember, part of the project is finding a plant that none of the participants have already! With the wonderful collections amongst us, that proves to be a little harder than it sounds ...
but it can be done!!!

We've done it twice so far

I'm interested, but I don't really want to commit myself until we decide what the project plant will be. I would hate being stuck with a Dend or a Catt or something of that sort.

Susanne, is the project always at this time? Unfortunately I will be on my southeast US spring trip and unable to order at that time. Too bad. Maybe next year. I'll stay out of the decision process.

Tony, if you were involved, your opinion (and we know what it is ) about dens would be taken into consideration. You can't just jump in at the end if you like what we choose It wouldn't be fair to the rest of us

Ross, are you unavailable for all of that time frame? Let's talk about it in chat some time and see what we can work out...

No, I am sure I will have web access, but I am NOT sure I will have the level of access that will allow ordering and even then, I will not be home to receive the order. I would LOVE to try this out! But am uncomfortable with the time frame. Go with the other folks and their needs.

I would be interested in a Paph. as well. There are so many to chose from it should be easy to find one that members don't have and many have middle of the road requirements.

BTW how do you determine what every member has or does not have so you can make your choice?

Hi, My name is Marco. I intended to participate in this project if the project plant is a miniature or paphiopedilum and is warm growing. I live in New York in the United States.

Please refer to the first response on this thread for my wishlist, which are all available at www.oakhillgardens.com.

Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you all in the near future.

Cool! Are us Canadians included as well? I grow paphs as you know but I was thinking on something like a mini catt...something that wouldn't take up much space and everyone would have a spot for. A lot of the little hybrids are easy to grow as well.

So count me in if I'm allowed to participate.

The last project was international, I think Paramount was the Canadian supplier.

the last two times around it was a species plant...how about a hybrid this time?

also, I know I'm lame and all, but when a plant you don't like at all gets chosen, it's hard to stay committed to a project, especially when you have limited time, space, and money.

now if everyone drops out of the project, that's problematic--but last time only a few did, and I'm pretty sure the rest got their discounts. I actually think you should keep project entry lists open for a few weeks after the decision is made, so that more people (who didn't for whatever reason get into the discussion) can jump on if they choose.

anyway, I am not committing to this as of right now, but primarily because April is a long ways away, and I'm almost certainly moving in July. but that may change.
