.................................................. .................................................. .............................................

Dendrobium formosum

IOSPE PHOTOS

Size: 9-18" *

*Too large

Temps: days 67-70, nights 54-55

There is a large section of information in Orchidwiz regarding this plant. It seems there is a bit of confusion between it and 2 others (Den formosum var giganteum and Den infundibulum). If you happen to get one of the others (through mislabeling or wrong info), then the conditions would be different and could die within 2-3 years due to stress.

I don't think one as risky as this should be used as a project plant

.................................................. .................................................. .............................................

Masdevallia pyxis

IOSPE PHOTOS

Size: 3.5-9"

Temps: 71-73* days, 51* nights

I think this is too cool a grower for us to use.

.................................................. .................................................. .............................................

Maxillaria cucullata

IOSPE PHOTOS

Size: 20" *

*Too tall

Temps: 70-72* days, 54-56* nights

*These are the coolest temperatures for this plant to grow. This plant can adapt 6-8 degrees warmer than shown.

.................................................. .................................................. .............................................

Phalaenopsis parishii

IOSPE PHOTOS

Size: mini

Temps: 79-81 days, 71 nights

Available in EU and CAN, I only see it at Parkside in the U.S
.................................................. .................................................. .............................................

Laelia praestans (now known as Sophronitis praestans)

http://orchidspecies.com/laelspectabilis.htm

Size: 3-6.5"

Temps: days 75-78, 63-64 nights

Paramount--nfs $24.00 CAN
SBOE-- no size, starts $25.00 USA
EU Botanische Orchideen

*We've decided against this one due to it's high humidity requirements.
