Well this plant is in no hurry to bloom that's for sure! One spike is elongating and I can see buds just inside. Spike #2 is just kind of hanging out. When I watered this morning I noticed a 3rd spike peeking out. It may be fall before I see flowers this round!

So funny actually... was just going to report that I think I found the beginnings of a new spike on mine too! Way down, still just barely peaking out from the leaf axle. So begins the long long (long long) wait.

Finally received a link to this thread. My Ascocentrum has two spikes instead of the three it had last year. There are four blossoms open on one of them. It was just as slow to watch as it was last year, though the suspense was not so bad! Carol

Mine is still in bloom from last April! Can you believe it? Throughout the summer in opened a couple of flowers at a time, but the whole spike was never in full bloom at once. I'm thinking that may have been due to warmer temps. Mine currently has 5 spikes! 2 flowers are open on the old spike from April. I'm thinking/hoping that with cooler temps it will open the whole spike at once like it did last year.

I've been meaning to post a picture of this one for awhile now. I ended up with six spikes. Just cut the oldest one off. It's blooming much better in the cooler temperatures. Four of the spikes are blooming and the fifth hasn't started yet. Again, this is an awesome plant.

Boy, what ever you are doing, it's the right thing!!
I can't get more than one spike at a time although the plant itself looks good and is continually putting out new leaves............
