No...not yet. I was at a judging center yesterday and we were looking at a Bulbophyllum echinolabium that smelled like rotten meat. After reading about this one's oder earlier today and having had the experience I did yesterday, I decided to pass.

If you ever get a chance to look up the cultivars of Bulbophyllum echinolabium, you should...some are quite descriptive of the scent it emits.

David...perhaps you'll be able to confirm this shortly...My blooms lasted for exactly one week. This seems to be the case with a lot of Bulbo/Cirrho types.

Hey Yvan...so far so good. It's been only 6 days though. I'll post again when they've spent their spurs. From what you've indicated, it will probably be soon.

Oh, I did stick my nose in it...ewww!

It's too bad no one has figured out how to do uploading and downloading of smells online. Or maybe that's a good thing.

You are all too funny!

Please remind me to laugh about it too when my next one blooms.

Hey Yvan....it looks like mine is right in sync with yours...there won't be much to look at after today...7 days it is!

Ah, but they were beautiful and fascinating while they lasted.

OK, here's mine. This is the second time it's bloomed and oddly enough, I can't detect a smell but then again, it's growing in my vivarium so if it smells, the frogs are the only ones that are noticing it!

Looks like you got an alba variety Dana. It's still very cute!
