for the clarification sue...one more thing though...can i make a motion that we not include more than 2 genus per list of 10? I.E. It would suck if all 10 random warm growers were phalaenopsis...

Ok...I'm caught up again ... as if that means things aren't going to get loose again...

If it doesn't really matter, why not eliminate the polling thing altogether?
Suzanne, I actually understood your last full description...umm...does this mean there's something not quite right about me?
In any respect, it seems it would be easier for you to just take plant suggestions...do the vender math thing.. ...and then have each plant/plants for the different temps be based on availability and cost...and those of us participating in the mystery, will truly have a mystery
All we'll need to know from you is which vender to contact.
It's just another from me...trying to keep it simple

That sounds like a good suggestion, Adam

I'll go back and edit this into my explanation post above but here it is:

No more than two of any genus will be accepted in the semi-finals.

Because the fun and educational part of the project is all the interaction that our project discussions and preparing for the polls brings to the board.

You ever have one of those ideas that you work through in your head and have every detail thought out and know it will work...but you can't explain it to other people the right way?

Welcome to my world!!

By the way...I can't believe none of you even noticed this from earlier today! I thought it was funny

Well, I guess we'll be discussing this for a while
...until you all come around to my way of thinking

OK. I understand the desire to narrow it down to genus. I understand the need to keep some categories as to warm-intermediate-cool. But beyond that, why are we concerned about exact species or even discussing spicies if the intent is have a secret contest? That's why I am confused. I see no reason to vote on a number. But maybe I'm just dense!

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Masdies, Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)
