Rest, Sue .. you need it bad!
Since this is going to be a mystery plant project .. why not include hot growers just for our southern members .. as a sub-project ..
I don't see why we should exclude anybody

Real quick thought then I'm off the la-la land

What if we do a warm/hot project and a cool project the same way we always do...going through all the details. Maybe coming up with 5 for each temp range...and then proceeding with a poll for each group using the numbering system rather than the names of the plants.
Members would have the option of voting in just one which will allow them to choose something for their location(s).

The wheels are turning...I should keep a notepad next to the bed

Nite-nite everybody

Susanne,
I appreciate the thoughtfulness that you are putting into this, especially at this early stage of the game.

David and Roly...you're going to have a lot of fun if we do it the way we've done them in the past!

We all lose our minds a bit but we see and learn about orchids we've never seen before along the way. Many of us now have chids that were suggested in the previous projects but for one reason or another didn't make it to the polls.

and what would plant projects be with out traveling companions or TCs ..
We can't have the project plant making the journey all alone ...

That is so true Dorothy... poor little project plant with no traveling companion. It probably needs 2 or 3 companions to feel happy and secure

I love the idea (or ideas) for the project! Sounds like fun up until I hear intermediate.... that means difficult to flower to me. My sed japonica is in suspended animation. I bought my neo in bloom and that might be the last time I'll see flowers on that one. My project plants have not been very successful so far!

I love the idea of 2 different temp projects! I have had some success with the hot growers! Count me in!

Sue that sounds even better; that way people with different temperature ranges will be able to grow their plant with minor difficulties. I would say pick 5 from cool, intermediate and warm temperatures; put them in a poll or polls and the winner of each poll will be the mystery plant only known by you. Then you will find the vendor or vendors and everyone can order from the corresponding one depending on what type of plant they decide to go with. I migh try warm and intermediate. One inside and one outside and see what happens. I'm really excited for this project !!!! I love your idea. Let's do this !!!!!!!!!!!
